What is Adventure Camp?
Adventure Camp is an opportunity for Webelos to experience a residence camp where they spend multiple days and nights at the Lawhorn Scouting Base near Molena, GA.
Days are packed with fun and nights are spent under the stars. Your meals will be served in the air-conditioned camp dining hall and you will bunk in a platform tent or Adirondack with another Scout or your parent. Hot showers and flush toilets are also available in campsites and shower houses. The camp maintains a full-time health facility, and provides certified aquatics instructors, trained shooting sports personnel, as well as a full-time qualified staff.
Webelos Adventure Camp - July 15-19 $155 per Scout and $50 per leader/parent
Webelos (rising 4th & 5th graders) have a great opportunity - Come out to Camp Thunder and experience a taste of what Boy Scout summer camp. Scouts just starting out in Webelos will get a great jump start by earning several Webelos Activity Badges. They will also be able to swim, shoot pellet guns & archery, and work on basic Scout skills. Webelos II’s will participate in exciting activities & adventures including climbing, aquatics, shooting and more advanced Scout skills as they prepare for their transition to Boy Scouts.
Travel back in time to early American history! You never know who you might find leading your classes. It could be Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Buffalo Bill, Geronimo, Anne Oakley, Bat Masterson, Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and Capt. Bill of the Texas Rangers. Learn from those that settled the western United States of America!
Join Annie Oakley on the Rifle Range for a little sharp shooting. Follow Geronimo through the Pine Mountain Back Country to learn about exploring and living off the land. Get Citizenship knowledge from Capt. Bill McDonald, one of the first Texas Rangers!. Live American History in the making!
For those who wish to stay in cabins, they are available on a first come basis and the cost will be $185 per Webelos Scout, and $80 per parent in cabins.
Please be advised that this event is for Scouts only. No accommodations are available for siblings.
