LAWHORN 2014 BEAVER DAYS!

Have you ever wondered what you could do to help out around camp? Well, now’s your chance! Come join us for one or both of our upcoming LAWHORN BEAVER DAYS where we will be busy beavers sprucing up our camp! The scouts of Flint River Council have been blessed with this beautiful camp for 75 years. Let’s make sure it lasts for another 75! Everybody ready?

There will be projects for all ages and skill levels. Rain or shine! Here are just some of the projects:  

• paint the exterior of buildings
• cut up and remove downed trees (firewood!)
• trim bushes and trees
• pressure wash pavilions
• dig out ashes and fix rocks in campsite fire pits
• patch and waterproof tents
• general trash clean up all over camp
• patch bottoms and fix seats on canoes
• pull grass out of sand on the beach
• paint the camp name onto life jackets, paddles, and canoes (stencils provided!)
• re-glaze windows on Howard Lodge
• and much, much more!

Come join us as an individual, family or unit – or make it a mini escape and stay for the entire weekend! Anyone who comes to be a beaver will get to camp for the entire weekend for free! Also, the camp will provide lunch each Saturday for all of the volunteers!
